Paper Presentation is all about presenting the topic in an effective way. The way you put your points, your presentation style, your language and how promptly and effectively you answer their questions - shows the effectiveness of your presentation.

Poster presentation will be similar to a Paper presentation, but the effectiveness here directly depends on the way the contents are displayed in a poster and how they are expressed.

  4. The photographs should be minimum of 5X7 inches.
  5. Clip boards will be provided to fix the poster.
  6. The team will get 10 minutes for presentation and Q&A session.

A case study is a research method involving an up-close, in-depth, and detailed examination of a subject of study, as well as its related contextual conditions. Winners will be awarded based on how effectively they express their observation on the case given.

 

TOPICS 1:  On 27 July 2005 in the Arabian sea around 160km west of Mumbai cost, 22 people dead by the Mumbai High North disaster which is Owned by ONGC due to the collision of multipurpose support vessel Samudra Suraksha, results in gas leakage which led to a fire on the platform. This caused a loss of 120000 barrels of oil & 4.4 million cubic metres of gas a day.

TOPICS 2:  On March 23 2005, an explosion occurred in an isomerization unit at BP`s Texas City Refinery, Texas, killing 15 workers and injuring more than 170 others according to a report, overfilling in the raffinate splitter, over heating of liquid and over pressurization led the hydrocarbon flow to the blow down drum and stack overwhelmed, results in overflow at the top and accumulated on ground, causes vapor cloud which is ignited by a pickup truck whose engine is left running. Report identified many failings in equipment, risk management and work culture. The U.S. chemical Safety & Hazard Investigation Board and OSHA found more than 300 safety recommendations were violated and they fined BP $21 Billion, largest fine by OSHA at that time.

 

Choose any one of the above topic and explain the causes for the accident and suggest any preventive measures for it.

Petro Wizard is a simple quiz session. The Questions asked in the session are directly based on events of Energy studies and policies around the world.

RULES & REGULATIONS:

 

  1. It consists of six sessions.
  2. Each team consists of 3 members.
  3. The event should be conducted on the basis of the time (2 minute).
  4. The team which won maximum sessions will be considered as the winner.
  5. No arguments or appeal will be entertained.

Project Expo is a platform to display your projects as a working or imagined model. However, an effective way of presenting the project is through a power point presentation, detailing its varied purpose.

 

TOPICS:  Anything Innovative and Relevant to the field of Energy.

 

 

RULES & REGULATIONS:

 

  1. Each team will have a minimum of 3 members.
  2. The project for completion must be presented in effective power point presentation.
  3. The presentation should contain simple description about the project.
  4. The participant should be able to bring all the requirements to execute the project.
  5. The decision made by the judges will be final.

THE MODEL UNITED NATION WILL BE BASED ON OPEC (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries)- The students will be given selection to commit to certain oil exporting countries, which they have to speak for. List of countries are typically the list of countries that have committed to OPEC.

 

 

RULES OF PROCEDURE:

 

  1. Each committee is led by a Chairperson who facilitates the discussion for the committee. The committee will start with the Chairperson taking roll call.
  2. The committee will then enter a whole day of Lobbying Sessions. Delegates are free to roam around the committee to work with other delegates. Delegates who work together are called Co-Submitters, and there is typically one Main Submitter to the resolution. Merging takes place during Lobbying Sessions. The prepared drafts will be sent to an Approval Panel for corrections before it can be presented to the committee.
  3. Each submitted resolution will be discussed one at a time, and usually each resolution is allotted a certain amount of time to be discussed. The Main Submitter will be called upon to present the draft resolution. Delegates may then yield their time to questions-and-answers. The Chairperson may call on other delegates to speak about the resolution.
  4. Amendments may be submitted by the delegates. A similar process takes place for just the amendments — a certain amount of time is allotted to present the amendment, take questions-and-answers, and for delegates to speak about the amendment.
  5. Delegates will vote on the amendments after time has elapsed for discussing each one, and delegates will vote on the resolution as a whole after time has elapsed on discussing all amendments to the resolution. Afterward, committee will repeat the process for the next resolution, or if there are no more resolutions, then you are done!
